Frequently Asked QuestionsIf your question isn't answered here, contact me via email at:Q: How do I submit a story? A: You can submit stories via email in the form of a Microsoft Word document, a text file, or by just pasting it into an email. I will edit spelling and grammar errors to the best of my ability, but will leave the tone of the stories untouched. You can email me at: gunny8511@gmail.com Q: Do I have to be active duty to submit a story? A: Absolutely not. Past and present military folks, even family members, can submit stories. Q: Are there limits on the size of stories? A: No; not yet. I certainly don't want folks to submit novels, but there are currently no limits on size. Q: Is profanity and mature content allowed in the stories? A: Profanity and mature content are not forbidden, but I'd prefer that it was kept to a minimum. Stories with mature content will have a warning on them. Q: Who are the authors? Who are you? A: The authors are military members (some are no longer on active duty) who have chosen to submit their stories about life in the military. I'm an active duty Gunnery Sergeant in The Marine Corps. If you have direct questions for any of the authors, send them to me, and I'll pass them on. Q: Is Writing Along a business? Do you make money from this? A: No. Writing Along is NOT a business, just a simple effort on my part to help military folks tell their stories. Q: If I submit a story, will I be famous? A: Yes. You'll reach rock-star status overnight. No, you won't reap instant fame, but you'll help educate the masses about life in the military, and maybe bring a smile, a laugh, or a fond memory to someone else. |
